Court fines private hospital as apron forgotten in womb
 Wed, 03 Dec 2014

KUWAIT CITY : The Court of First Instance presided over by Judge Fahad Al-Barazi ordered a private hospital to pay a compensation of KD 10,000 to a female expatriate who suffered intense physical pain because the doctors left behind an apron inside her womb during a C-section surgery. According to the case file, the plaintiff attorney Lawyer Mohammad Al-Ajmi requested for a medical team to be assigned to evaluate the amount of pain and other damages his client suffered. He said his client visited the hospital several times when she was pregnant and had received excellent medical supervision until the time of delivery. After delivery, she started having severe pains and was admitted into the hospital again but the doctors could not locate the source of the pain and had placed her on different analgesics for several months to no avail. He declared that the medical team later discovered that the problem was due to an apron that was left behind in her womb during the C-section operation. He accused the doctor and his assistants for the problem and demanded compensation for the physical, mental and financial damages sustained by the woman.
